Does anyone find it stupid to do a treament on...

Mild dypslasia?

My doctor wants to do a leep on me but it's been over a year since I’ve had the Mild dyplasia and when they did the biopsy they weren't sure of if it was even dypslasia period!

Now in a few more months my doctor wants to do another colops and take it from there but she did mention doing a leep on me.

Yes, I think that's stupid... I had the same thing happen & got a second opinion. My new doctor has been great. She said as long as it is mild, there is no need to treat it. If it goes like 2 years or something, then she might think about it. Why is your doc even talking about another colpo without having an abnormal test?

I have no clue! My pap’s are saying Mild dypslasia but the biopsy's are saying it's nothing! I'm just so upset for having to go through all of these. My doctor even told me that they have done LEEPS on patients and it shows up No dypslasia when it’s the Mild case! So why would you want to do one on me! I'm going for a second opinion in December though... this is such a headache! I hate the fainting feeling after getting a colopscopy! Why not just do a pap smear since she has already done a biopsy… She could have gotten all of the dypslasia from the biopsy it’s self
THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY WHEN IT COMES TO MONITORING OUR CERVIX!!!

Re: Does anyone find it stupid to do a treament on...

I have high risk HPV. Three months ago, the biopsies from my colpo came back mild to moderate. My doctor reccomended a LEEP, but I was very hesitant, as I haven't had children yet and was concered about possible fertility problems w/ the LEEP procedure. Needless to say, I held off on the LEEP and went instead to a naturopathic doctor. I just went for my follow-up pap and colpo less than 2 weeks ago, and my dysplasia has improved!! I was so excited because I don't need the LEEP at this point. I would say that if you still have time on your hands then why not consider other, non-invasive options while you can instead of just waiting, waiting, waiting for it to get worse.
