abnormal pap - Cancer: Breast Message Board

last october i had a abnormal pap and it scared me so much. i had to come in a week later and have a biopsy/colop( whatever that thing is called) then come back and had to have my cervix freezed my doc said it was dysplaysia it was a low grade one but he never said anything to me about hpv i know that is one of the causes i mean i am with one person and i have done alot of research on it and hpv cannot even be protected with a condom on and it can lay dormat in your body. my question is could hpv been it and if it was my doc would have told me no cuz i kept asking him. i have had 2 normal paps one in january then in june.
now im due back in jan and i am nervous now since this i get so nervous. i dont want to ever go though that again

I had an abnormal pap smear come back low grade dysplasia 3 times. After the third pap I had the colposcopy. The weird thing was the colposcopy couldn't find any abnormal cells so I didn't have a biopsy. they just decided to freeze it. Nobody mentioned HPV to me but I read about it on the internet. My repeat pap came back normal after that.
