| Re: question re: post cold knife cone
I was scheduled for a CK but cancelled it (i only have cin1-2 and my dr was telling me stuf that didnt sound right with my written diagnosis, so im getting a 2nd opinion) But in my research I did read stuff about some red, brown or dark discharge after, its your cervix healing. If its BAD or hurts or doesnt stop i would see your dr but i think a little is ok
Generally it takes years for cancer to develop, but if you had a mild abnormality it could very well get to stage 1 cancer in a year. Also many paps are mis read or not accurate, so it could read OK but really be a slight abnormality and then progresses.
Also i think if you smoke or have hpv it progresses faster?
You never get rid of the virus, so cant be 're' infected, but you CAN get another strain , there are tons of different strains and clearly having more than one is worse....you never really know who has what strain. Im not sure what test they do for men hpv , bc they cant have paps obviously - maybe theres a blood test or swab? thats why so many women end up with it, men dont normally get tested and are symptomless.
You could have gotten it years ago and shown no signs, the strains that cause cancer arent the ones with warts so you wouldnt have any outward signs...or it could have been recent.
