Autumn, I'm not a doctor, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night... Cysts are follicles that are larger than follicle size. That's what ovaries are; just bags of small cysts, as it were. And these come and go; witness ovulation. At this moment, if these cysts have just appeared and you do not have ominous, accompanying symptoms, it may be no big thing. Your doctor should order another US in a month to watch their growth or loss of size. And if you are lucky, they will shrink. Now whether this is what they do for the presence of only one cyst, I don't know. And I don't know whether your ovary is greatly enlarged overall, or if you have also had a CA125 done (it's not very specific, though, and may not even be accurate). Check out the ovarian cancer site, www.ovariancancer.org, and www.*************.com, if you have not done that in a while. Also, you can do a search for "ovarian cyst (cysts)" and similar terms for other articles. Even "cystic ovary" will give you some neat pictures, although most articles are about PCOS.... which is another possibility to consider. I hope you can find enough things to calm your mind until you get your doctor's ideas about the whole thing. Take care, Autumn!
