Breast Pain, and Discharge - Cancer: Breast Message Board

I know I am probabely over -reacting and panicking about this, but for the last three months I have been having bad breast pain in my left breast, and now this morning it is discharging a brown/red discharge, which totally freaked me out! I do have a mammogram scheduled, but I cannot get in for a appointment earlier than next month. I cannot sleep worrying about this now! I am just turning 40 this year, never been pregnant, but had a benign lump removed from my right breast when I was just 18, which was pretty traumatic for me at the time at that age. I have friboids of the womb, but the pain is bearable. I have no one to talk to about this, and feel like I will just dissolve into a pathetic puddle of tears at work!!

Hello xbritt. I had discharge from my right breast for some time before getting it checked, but it did turn out to be a pre-cancerous condition called intraductal carcinoma, for which I ultimately needed a mastectomy. Where yours is brown/red, I would call your OBGYN and see if they can order a RUSH mammogram (explain your symptoms- if they don't take you seriously, call another doctor). You need to talk to someone who can get you in NOW, not in a month.
