spotting after pap!!! help - Cancer: Breast Message Board

Hello,

I had a pap test on Wed. When I got home I was spotting. This has NEVER happened before. What on earth is wrong here?

The results of the pap were fine.

Why am I bleeding!!!It's been 2 days now.

I don't know if you have an answer to your post yet or if you are still spotting. Did you ask your doctor? My only guess is that maybe they pinched too hard or scraped too hard/much. I am only guessing. I hope you have an answer from someone on this by now.

It's been 8 days since my pap and I'm still spotting,cramping and kind of bleeding. The nurse called me back about this and looked on my chart and the gyn had written I had slight inflammation. She said the pap came out fine.

They called in a pill of diflucan and some kind of vaginal cream I have to insert(gross!)for 5 days.

Today the nurse called again and said if I don't stop bleeding after the cream is finished that they want me to come in for a urinaliysis. Now I'm really confused!!

I'm wondering what sort of infection they think I have.
She thinks something was going on before the pap.

Renee, I hope all is better for you..I too just got the results from pap ..said all was fine except for infection..they gave me a cream also..yuck..but they didnt explain what it was ..I also got a call to say they found a spot on my left breast when they did my mamogram..so back for additional test..So, I jump on computer to do some research and found this board and u..Is this my secret sis?? if it is how amazing out of all the sites it leads me to I find this one and u..

I used to live in Morgantown, WV 20 years ago, when I was a crazy teenager.

Well, the bleeding has stopped..almost, but now I'm getting my period so the nurse said I have to wait 5 more days and if doesn't stop by then I need to come back in.

As for the spot on your breast, I've had 3 lumps before. One was taken out surgically, 2 were aspirated, and today I have calcifications showing on my mammogram. The radiologist has done "extra" mammograms on my breast, to view it more closely.

YEE HAWW!!,as we say here in Texas. My life has surprises around every corner.

I bet your "spot" is nothing to be concerned about. There are lots of things seen on mammograms that aren't bad.
