Dysplasia in Mouth?? - Cancer: Breast Message Board

I meant to ask my doc this, but I forgot. Does anyone know if you need to have your mouth and throat tested for dysplasia? If you can get it in your mouth from oral sex, then should you have your mouth checked too?

I've never heard of it in the mouth, even when I did an Internet search on dysplasia, but if anyone knows, please let us know!

I have read that high risk hpv has been linked to oral cancers. This scares me because as far as I know there is no screening like the pap. BUT....I did ask two of my OB's and they both said no. They have never even heard of it. I also asked my regular doctor and he said no.

Do you go for dental check-ups every 6 months? THey should check for oral cancers. I think that's the best we can do....And pray.

Also, I want to thank you for your replies on my other post. It's good to know I'm not alone.
