My dr. finally called with my results tonight and she said I have mild dysplasia (which both paps alredy indicated) and CIN I. She also said there were "marked changes" in my HVP status, but didn't elaborate when I asked what that meant. She then told me I was fine and to have a follow up pap in 6 months to a year.
Now this seems like good news to me, but I am still wary. This is after all the same dr. that told me a week ago that it looked precancerous and wanted to do a LEEP in a few weeks after the colpo..
Also it seems like 6 months to a year is a long time to wait for a follow up pap after 2 abnormal ones (three months apart)and an abnormal colpo. Am I just overreacting here, or should I get a second opinion.
I guess after all the stories I have heard, here and from people I have met, that this is an unpredictable "condition" and it should be treated as thouroghly as possible. I would hate to feel fine now and find out in 6 months that it has been spreading to severe or CIN III or something and I could have done something to catch it...
Anyways, I don't know if I am just being overly cautious (ok or scared) or if these concerns are normal. I do know that my brain is spinning though..
