Ok, the good news. I found out I just had CIN1 on the biopsy. I have been given the choice to wait and see (with paps every three months) or to get laser surgery.

My husband wants me to wait. I've already paid my deductible this year, and I plan on going to law school next year. I would have to switch insurance, making this incident pre-existing. Maybe I should just get it taken care of now while I have insurance instead of gambling it will go away. He said 60 percent would clear up on their own. But since when have I been lucky? Any advice?

It isn't pre-existing as long as your insurance never stops, is it? I think as long as you were insured and you stay insured (you may even have a 60 day window) it isn't pre-existing. It may depend on the state and on the policy.

I would say wait to see if your immune system can fix it, but the surgery isn't that bad, either. The recovery is no fun simply because you tend to feel so good and there are so many restrictions.

Insurance generally labels anything as pre-existing if it happened before you signed up with them, whether you had insurance or not.

I couldn't deal with the stress of that so I decided to go ahead and get the laser surgery now. I have it set in a few weeks. I have some questions for you guys, though. My doctor says he doesn't use any pain killer unless you start hurting. Is that normal? He also said it didn't matter if you lifted anything or rested after the surgery, just no sex or tampons for three weeks. He said I wouldn't bleed. I bled a lot with my biopsy. It's not supposed to make you bleed a lot either. What were your experiences?
