had my Mammogram.... - Cancer: Breast Message Board

today...and an ultrasound.
Nothing showed on the ultrasound. You can feel the lumps but nothing came up. So they sent me for the mammogram.

What does that mean? The lab tech said that since they didn't show up on the ultrasound they aren't cysts....the one maybe just the ridge of breast tissue...but the other?
What if they don't show on the mammogram?
I am a bit confused...and scared...

I'm a little confused about what was said but I CAN tell you that when I've had mammograms that didn't show my cysts (which were aspirated and were fine) they did an ultrasound because I felt the "lump". The ultrasound found the lump. I was told that ultrasounds are better than mammograms! Don't know for certain, never checked it out further. I just felt better knowing that it did "find" my cyst and it wasn't just in my head.
