Waiting for Biopsy Results - Cancer: Breast Message Board

Would it be safe to assume that if the doctor's office did not call you with in 3 days of a breast biopsy that cancer was not found? Everyone keeps encouraging us that if we have not heard anything yet then there was no cancer found. The nurse's station keeps saying that the results are not back yet. But I had two aunts that went through the same thing and they both got their results back by the next day showing cancer. So would some one from the lab call to let you know if cancer was detected?

some labs are slower than others so it may take a day or two more than others so just give it a day or two and then call the dr back and see what it says then.

In general, no news is good news, but do not take any chances. Call them in a day or two and ask if your results are back. I have had bitter experience with two different drs' offices who never called me for abnormal Pap & mammogram results (aarrgghhhh), and I found out BY ACCIDENT when I switched drs and had a consult for a different thing...

Just an update, it has been 2 weeks today and still no results. All I was told was that they were sent to the local known cancer hospital but that is all the nurse knew. I'm really frustrated with all of this.
