Re: recurrent breat cancer with bone mets

delrae4753, I don't know if anyone can tell you how long your mother can/will survive what is happening in her body except her doctor. Just know you can post here, vent here and cry here and there is someone who's dealing with or dealt with exactly what you're going through...

My mother was first diagnosed with BC in November 1998. She survived until January of 2005, including many years with bone metastasis (however painful).

Hope this helps,
Karie

Re: recurrent breat cancer with bone mets

delrae, I'm sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. I don't understand why she is rejecting treatment. Treatment will most likely prolong her life. Does she have other health problems that make her reluctant?

I am 28 and have had a breast cancer recurrence with mets and I'm fighting it with everything I can. What is making her give in?

Re: recurrent breat cancer with bone mets

After living a long life, I can understand why she would reject treatment. The strength of a 28 year old vs. an 80 year old are greatly different. My mother...at 62...had aged SOOOO much with her treatments that when her "time came" she was ready to go too--to see her mom & dad as well as friends who had passed on. It is a very sad reality.

Kalie, how are you doing with treatments? I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Keep fighting girl...
