my mom has breat cancer rt mastectomy 1997 and left mastectomy 2001 was on tamoxiphen for 9 years just was rediagnosed her cancer came back in her ribs with metz now aslo in the kidney the adrenal nodes the ovary and the retroperitoneal all mets how long does a person survive with this she is 80 they have called in hospice and she is not going to take any treatment or surgery

delrae4753, I don't know if anyone can tell you how long your mother can/will survive what is happening in her body except her doctor. Just know you can post here, vent here and cry here and there is someone who's dealing with or dealt with exactly what you're going through...

My mother was first diagnosed with BC in November 1998. She survived until January of 2005, including many years with bone metastasis (however painful).

thank you she is under the care of hospice she is on the pearl team i understand thats less than 6 months so i dont know she has metatasis in about 4 places in her body so im sure her time is very short

delrae, I'm sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. I don't understand why she is rejecting treatment. Treatment will most likely prolong her life. Does she have other health problems that make her reluctant?

I am 28 and have had a breast cancer recurrence with mets and I'm fighting it with everything I can. What is making her give in?

she says she is 80 she is ready to go to her jesus and her family she has live a long life and she is ready to go home! she is ready to see her husband and her mom and dad and her brothers and her friends . she is not afraid to die because she says joy cometh in the morning.
