tender lump in breast - Cancer: Breast Message Board

I have been taking northestrone tablets to postpone my period, which I stopped taking and have just finished my period. A few days ago i noticed a tender mass in my right breast. My partner thinks its cancer, but am I right in thinking that a cancer lump does not feel tender, more like a cyst would.
Could the northestrone tablets caused this.

I am too scared to go anywhere to find out.

I know you are scared, but it is best to get it checked out, chances are it's nothing to worry about. I had a lump found on a routine mammogram and it wasn't anything. The cancer nurse told me that cancer doesn't hurt, I'm not sure I believe that, but most likely it has to do with the pills you are taking. Go see your doctor.

I had always heard that cancerous lumps don't hurt, but in the early stages of mine, it was very tender which made me think I had banged it or something; the furthest thing in my mind was cancer. It sounds like you may have a reaction to the medication, but please, don't delay. Get yourself checked out. Time is of the essence. God bless.

I've always heard that the cancerous lumps don't hurt. I've got a lump that gets tender sometimes and I've had *****'s and ultrasounds and they always tell me it's a benign cyst......so try not to worry, but get it checked out!

I went to the Gp's on Monday.
Nursed examined me and then called for the Gp. Nurse thought it could be mastitis (but i was lead to believe that was only if you were breast feeding) GP said its nothing sinister and its nodules and to go back in a month for another exam.
But my worry now is, they didn't give me anything for the tenderness and I am getting pain in the glands under my armpit, which I told the GP.
