I'm 17 years old, and, now turning here for help.
I know what I'll get, but, I'll explain why simply going to the doctors isn't an option of yet.
For about 4 days now, I've had a very small lump on the nipple of my right breast, which is very tender and red, as well as raised. I told my mum of it, but she brushed it off. So when I told her again yesterday, she again brushed it off and said that I was only worrying about it because I knew it was there.
Anyone else I've spoken to has said go to the doctor, but I like to think that my own mum wouldn't put me at harm, and deny me to go to the doctor if she thought I'd need to.
The lump's painful, yet, the pain sometimes spreads. Like, one minute I can be sat fine, then get sharp pains down my arm, or my arm goes dead. I'm right handed, so having this is disrupting my daily routine, let alone leaving me feeling very frustrated and uncomfortable.
Is there no reason for this, without having to seek out real medical advice yet ?

This Is Not Something To Be Blown Off.get To A Doctor.i Have Also Got The Same Problem,the Doctors Here In Michigan Call It Fibrocystic Breasts,which Means It Might Possibly Be What I Have,sounds Just Like My Problems.warm Compression With A Warm Washcloth Will Help Your Pain,but I Am 30 Years Old.i Have Had The Same Problem Since 19yrs Old,you Need A Antibiotic,and You May Need To Start Getting Mamograms,i Have Since 20yrs Old,good Luck To You I Know I Always Want To Talk About My Symptoms And Figure Out What I Should Do. It sucks when your mom brushes off something so important. But the problem is with YOUR body, whether she acknowledges that or not. Being that you're 17, if getting to a doctor is difficult if your mom won't take you, confide in an adult friend or visit the local health department.

Since about 2000, when I was 28, I had occasional severe bleeding from my rectum. I told my mother and she explained it away as a harmless hereditary problem. I moved to another state in 2001. In 2002, still having the bleeding, a friend urged me to see a doctor. That friend saved my life. I had a precancerous colon polyp that happened to be bleeding. They usually exhibit no symptoms at all. My doctor told me if I'd waited another year, I'd have colon cancer. Removing the polyp solved the problem. Simple as that.

Take care of yourself. A doctor will put your mind at ease. Whatever the problem, your concern and early detection will serve you well. Let me know how it goes.
