Radiotherapy - Cancer: Breast Message Board

Hi everyone,

I have only just found this site and was wondering whether or not anyone out there is going through a course of rads. I had lumpectomy on 24.10 and am now on a 5 week course of rads....5days a week. I am feeling so emotionally drained and tired all the while, but when i get into bed i cannot sleep. As anyone out there got any suggestions to help me through the next five weeks. I am doing nothing but cry and feel miserable all the time.

I went through the 33 days of radiation this summer. I was completely exhausted also. I tried to rest after my treatment because I found that I didn't have the energy to do anything. Ask your dr. for something to make you sleep. I became not totally depressed, but at one time, I thought about stopping treatment...which would have been a real mistake. I am just thankful that I didn't have to do chemo. What you are feeling is normal.
