ahh.. - Cancer: Breast Message Board

im 17 and i was laying down one time when my right breast started to hurt..i didnt know why this could be but i did have my period at the time so i figured eh hormones..but then i felt a lump. i made an appointment with my gyno to check it out and he couldnt even find it. he was sure it was hormones..i coudlnt even find it that day either.. but STILL my breasts are both sore all around..more sore spots then others but in general are really sore. The lump is still there and in the same spot and it has definently come back.. by looking at my boobs they look completely fine..no discharge or ugly skin or any symptoms of breast cancer.. im really scared that i have like a million sists in both boobs or something..what should i do about this and should i be scared? im so young..ive never had a problem like this before.

hey kabester, i am a 4yr bc survivor and have an 19yr old daughter. I hate to hear how frightened you are..
Take a deep breath..you have been to the gyno and has assured you that there is no evidence of breast disease..thats good!
I had cysts when I was young...(they didnot turn cancerous) but i remember them hurting when I had my period. I know for certain that during that time, anything that contained caffeine including chololate, would make the cysts feel larger and very sore.
If you continue to be nervous about this maybe your Dr. can order a ultrasound for you..just to help ease your mind.
Keep up with your yearly appointments..Thats really important
