"Zit" on breast

Hi all!

Has anyone ever had a "zit" on their breast before? I week ago I noticed what looked to me like a zit on my breast - I worried it might be something more, so I got into my doctor the next day - she looked at it and said it was sebhorreic keratosis - there is no treament, and people tend to get them as they age, usually on the chest and back.

I lost my mom to cancer 1 1/2 years ago, (leukemia) and whenever I notice something going on with my body, I always worry it might be cancer -

any input would be helpful!

thanks!

Re: "Zit" on breast

Hi Supermom,

Sorry you are undergoing such stress. I think alot of your anxiety is over your mom's death which I'm sorry to hear of her death. Its not unusual for someone who is going through the loss of your mother to start noticing things on your body. I don't know how old you are but would definitely make sure you get annual mammograms, pap smears and physical exams. Your mind can do funny things to you at times. I've been there when I was going to school and studying about diseases...I developed everyone of them.

This probably hasn't helped you much but I hope it does. It is so hard losing a loved one. It takes a long time to get over it, if u do. My dad died in 2002 and I still cry over him. Hang in there

Take care,
Linda

Re: "Zit" on breast

Hi Supermom,

Just a couple of weeks ago, I got a 'zit' on my breast. I've gotten them before, but for some reason this one just bothered me. I kept watching it every day, and didn't squeeze it and it did go away. I thought about going to have it checked out, but it looked just like any zit that I would get on my face or anywhere else.
I have been getting some cystic acne lately, and also did have a small breakout on my face at the same time.
I've been going through peri-menopause, and my Dr's (gyn and derm) says that the breakouts are hormonal and stress related.

Mary

Re: "Zit" on breast

Thanks Linda! I'm sorry about your dad! My dad passed away in 2002 also - I'm 41 - pretty young to have both parents gone - my husband's grandfather just passed away a week ago at 91 -

Thanks again for your thoughts!!!

Re: "Zit" on breast

Thanks Mary! I keep applying neosporin, although I don't know if this will make it go away - I think I need a "shrink" so I don't connect every little thing to cancer - thanks again!
