Hi everyone, I am new to the boards and am so glad to have found this board. I have been having real bad tenderness underneath my right breast. When I lift up my sagging breast

it is very tender to touch. I dont know if its my rib cage or my breast. If you lift up your breast there is a ridge of some sort there. Is that part of the breast or ribs? I know they say breast cancer does no hurt usually but this is very tender to touch and it feels different than the other side. In fact my husband noticed the difference in the both of them. It almost feels like maybe a lump underneath that ridge. Can anyone help me. Thank you so much.

Hi dj, it might just be a cyst, but you really need to have that looked at. Have you had a mammo, yet/this year? I dont know how old you are, but given the fact that you feel something your doc. might suggest you have one, or maybe even an ultrasound..
Please dont let this go, early detection is really important when you are dealing with so many different illnesses.

hi cj, thank you for getting back to me. I am 49 years old. But the spot is real tender to touch so I dont want an ultrasound. It will hurt too much. Does breast cancer hurt like this? I am really worried. I have an appt. Friday.

hi dj i would get it checked out to be on the safe side. I went to the breast clinic thinking i had another cyst. it was painful towards my nipple. It unfortunately turned out to be early stage breast cancer

but i have had most of my treatment now since sept06. So stay positive and go get it checked. Let us know how your doing phyl41

You definatly need to have it checked out as soon as possible. Never ignore even the slightest change in your breasts. It could be something like a inflamed lymph node or milk duct, or cyst. Even so that would need to be treated as well. The sono gram dosn't hurt near as much as the mamo grams do you will probably get both to be safe. Get in there and have it checked out do not wait around and good luck to you will keep good thoughts that this turns out ok for you.
