I have just recently discovered a lump in my breast and am really freaked out about what is ahead for my life. I am desperately afraid to see a doctor because of information I've come across. I am just really sceptical about anything right now.

Whatever else you might do, DO NOT put off seeing a doctor even though you might be afraid. It may not be cancer, but why take a chance. If it is benign, you will have peace of mind. If it isn't, you can seek appropriate treatment. Putting off treatment is dangerous. The key to successful treatment is early detection. So, head to your telephone and call a doctor right now!!!

I've had many lumps in the past 7 years and they've all turned out to be cysts. I just had some cysts drained yesterday. You should go get it checked out, most likely it's not what you think.

Get it checked out, girl!! Read my post under ductile carcinoma. The only thing going for me so far, is having it found on a routine mammogram.

Hear what everybody is saying - please go and get it checked out by the doctor.

I have just recently this week discovered a lump in my breast and it was very sore and tender. I went today to the doctors to get it checked out just need to wait for an appointment at the hospital because they want to be absolutely certain. But she said that it could be a cyst - believe that not all lumps are cancer - they can be something else. But no matter how anxious you are - there is nothing worse than fearing the worse and not knowing. Everybody is right - early detection is always better - if it is serious.

You are not a doctor so cannot diagnose the problem - you really need to consult a doctor - you may be worrying about nothing.
