Hi,

Just so you are aware there is a deadly type of BC called IBC inflammatory breast cancer. This cancer usually is very deadly and it comes on very suddenly. My Mother has this type of BC, and so far she survived 8 years; howver it is suspected that it is back due to her blood tests. Usually it is classified at stage 3B. Most of the time there is no lump, just swelling and a red rash. Sometimes there is a very large lump that appears overnight. This type of BC has 2 types, one is estrogen positive and one is genetic based. For more info. you can look up Inflammatory BC on the internet and read about it.

Great that you took the time to post that important information!!
I dont think many women know that a rash can signify suspicion of Inflammatory breast cancer..Its always better to be armed and educated with information!!
Im so sorry for your mom..I too have had bc, almost 5yrs ago..Its not an easy journey and to have a recurrance is something we all dread.
And how are you doing..must be had on you too.
Im saying a prayer for your Mom.

Hi, not sure what I'm doing as this is my first message on here but hope this is right! My Mum has IBC which she first became aware of in January of this year, since then it has been a rollercoaster of partial removal, then full mastectomy and now the cancer has spread to both her bones and liver. Can anyone give me advice on anything to do with this terrible disease and more importantly, can she survive long term when carrying such a lethal illness?Many Thanks, Sarah

Hi Sarah, so sorry to hear about your mums cancer..I am a 4+years breast cancer survivor myself but of a different kind.
The best advice I can offer you is to search around the internet..there are sites out there where women with IBC support one another and their families..I know from my own experience, that someone who has already been where you find yourself now..can offer alot of good info, support and kindness.Both you and your mum could greatly benefit from that. Its an awfully scary journey for you both..my heart goes out to you.
