I have stage 4 male breast cancer. It has moved into my bones. Recently the left side of my voice box became paralyzed. About two weeks ago the left side of my forehead and skull went numb. Last week I had an MRI taken of my brain. The radiologist has yet to send the reading to my oncologist but I was given a CD of the MRI. I can see a 2 1/2 inch by 1/2 lesion on the left frontal lob between the brain and the skull. It looks like it is pressing on the brain. Could this be the cause of both the speech and numbness problems? I'm starting to get mild headaches also. Should I ask my oncologist for a referral to a neurosurgeon? I'm currently taking Xeloda (3000mg) for the cancer.
When is your next appointment with your oncologist? I would call the onc's office and explain, just as you have here, that you are wondering what the results mean and that you are wondering if your recent symptoms are d/t the cancer.
I would think they should be able to give you an answer by now, so you know where you stand.
