3 weeks post op lumpectumy - Cancer: Breast Message Board

Hello! I have a question..3 weeks ago I had a lumpectumy (which turned out to be B9 happily) anfd until last week I was feeling fine. Then My pain increased ,quite abit. But the heelign on the outside is looking great ...the swelling has increased but not hugely. But the pain..I'm having VERY sharp deep pains , not the type that I would assosiate with mending/heeling. I'm scedualed for an emergency ultra-sound tomorrow and my doctor is worried that they may have to open me back up again....that really distresses me !! HAs any one else gone threw this post op? . I have had mild fevers and no energy at all since the surgery... My main question is does this doing like an infection ...and if so what do they do for it ? BTW I put this in the Breast Cancer board because I really didn't have a clue where else to put it

I just had my ultrasound doen and their was alarge dark area on the screen where the lump and duct had been remeved ..they said that it was not scar tissue. But they said I would have to talk to my doctor to see what it was ...probably dried blood or and infection. Another 24 to 48 hours waite time again..and then what is going to happen ??
