Hi everyone i'm shelly. I'm 40 yrs old and I had a baseline mammogram last year with normal results. I had a mammogram tuesday and got a Call from the Breast Center yesterday saying that the Dr had seen "Something small" on my results and wants me to come back in next Tuesday to have another mammogram of my right breast and an Ultrasound. I'm beyond scared

I don't have a family history of breast Cancer which i Know doesn't make me any safer from not getting it. I do have Fibrocystic breasts and i'm praying with all my heart that That is what the Dr saw. Does anyone have any encouraging words for me? I'd appreciate any and all prayers too. Thanks

Hi Shelly

Sorry you are going though this. I know many, many women get call-backs and it turns out NOT to be breast cancer. They check out many things that are even slightly suspcious just to be on the safe side. Even if they found a lump, 80% of lumps are NOT breast cancer either.

The odds are in your favor that it will be ok.

Just read your post - hope all went well. I'm at your exact situation, going for my second mammo and ultrasound tomorrow, and I'm stressed to say the least (more out of concern for my kids, though). Anyhow, I sincerely hope all went well with you and your concern is long forgotten! :-)

I am 40 yrs old and I went if for a mammogram and now the dr wants me to go back for another one on my left breast, an ultrasound and i have to get a shave biopsy. all this testing is driving myself and my husband nuts.
