Re: core biopsy?

It is a spring action needle that is hollowed out in the middle. Since the needle is cored out in the middle, when it is put into the area, it takes a piece of tissue out instead of just extracting fluid like a regular needle would be used for.

Re: core biopsy?

You are more than welcome....

The shot to numb you is a sting, then I felt nothing whatsoever....Go and get a sports bra that really helped me a lot for three days....Also I put this ice pack on them gave me for the 1st day every hour for 15 minutes.

Re: core biopsy?

Had mine done on Wed and had the results the next day (this was last week) going into surgery Tomorrow....

I do have BC but she did lower it from stage II to stage I and mine was caught very early.

I know the waiting is hard, hang tight.

Re: core biopsy?

thanks Julie. I am putting the cart before the horse because I still need the ultrasound tomorrow before any biopsy but I read before where someone on this site waited a long time for biopsy results-that would make me totally bonkers. Just so much runs thru your mind-I am supposed to leave for vacation w/ my husband on Tues for 2 wks & wonder how I will feel about that if they let me know anything from the ultrasound...
I am so sorry to hear your biopsy results were positive but glad they downgraded it. Hearing from those going thru this is really wonderful-glad I found this site-makes you feel as though you are not alone and not totally nuts.
