I've heard no sex for at least 3-4 WEEKS - not days.

Okay, i thought for my colposcopy it was a week before or something like that........I know afterward it's 5-6 weeks.

No sweat was just making sure i wasn't missing somekind of loophole.

When you go in for any kind of gynocological exam, it's best not to douche, have sex or any other kind of outside action regarding the vagina for at least 24 hours before. As for sex right after the LEEP, I believe that you're still bleeding well into 2 weeks. They tell you to wait as long as possible to have intercourse to allow the vagina ample time to heal and reproduce new cells/tissue and to avoid infection or injury to the cervix. GOOD LUCK!!!

Before a pap, you should wait 24-48 hours. I do not think it is the same at all for the LEEP. You are talking about the Saturday before, right? Since they take tissue and not just a swab, I don't think it matters if you have had sex a day or two before. The tissue goes into a solution and they actually examine the whole sample. It should be easy to tell blood and semen and other things from cervical cells when you have the whole thing. My doc never mentioned sex before the LEEP, but I am not sexually active. But, remember, this is not a good time to get pregnant so use extra protection.

You know, it wouldn't hurt to call the doc's office and ask to be sure.

Good luck with your procedure. Is it this Monday? I sure hope your fiance will be sticking around to pamper you. If not, he can at least help your prepare yourself - cook a few extra things, rent some movies, etc.

Ooh, I guess we were typing at the same time.

After the LEEP sex is a definite no-no. You have a big wound inside of you and poking at it and pushing on it would be a very bad idea. Not to mention pouring sperm into it.
