A question about dysplasia...

I have a question. If you have been diagnosed with dysplasia, did you have any symptoms? Discharge, pain, discomfort? Right before I was diagnosed with CIN I-II, I noticed something was going on but not sure. I just wanted to know if anyone else felt that way?

Re: A question about dysplasia...

Verucah,
I personally did not have any symptoms. I had no idea anything was wrong until I got an abnormal pap. However, from what I've read on this board some women have symptoms and that is why they see the doctor. So it is possible to have symptoms, but not all women do. Hope this helps.

Re: A question about dysplasia...

Hi, I also did not have any symptoms, just all started off as my first abnormal pap. I"M 30 years old. pap came back cin II- cinIII. then i had a leep at the end of april, it came back cinIII margins were not clear, but the endocervical was clear.
I just had my 3 month. followup pap and colposcopy and it came back cin III again. Still no symptoms. SO now I have to go back for another leep....

No there is usually no symptoms when it comes to dysplasia.. Only when it comes to cancer I believe.

That's why they tell females to get there yearly pap smears and not just the pap for STDs because those don't pick up on dysplasia.

Re: A question about dysplasia...

i personally had some symptoms.. pain and spotting.. pain with sex mostly.. the sites that i have read on dysplaisia and cervical cancer say that the reason that women develop carvical cancer is lack of their yearly exams because it does not have symptoms(dysplasia) and only cervical cancer has symptoms (spotting and pain during sex). and only when it is advanced.. ( i dont beleive i have cancer - i think i might be extra sensitive.) a good place to get alot of information is from the american caner society website.. they have alot about dysplasia and cervical cancer. hope it helps

Lightbulb Re: A question about dysplasia...

Nearly 4 years ago I was diagnosed with HPV and CIN I. They told me to have a colposcopy which I had and they told me I then had CIN II. I looked up information on the web and found a product called Betamannan. I ordered it and started taking it as it tells u to. Not so long after that I found these lumps on my vagina - I thought they must have been warts so I called my gyno and he told me 'I had bought them on' (nice!!!)...

I went to a different gyno and had a LEEP. In this time I was still taking the Betamannan. The doctor burnt off the lumps during surgery and took one for biopsy. It came back to be molluscum contagiosum... When I went in to get my results after the LEEP my gyno told me my CIN was down to I. So I presumed that this Betamannan had worked. I then went overseas and had a pap and the results came back clear. I then once again moved back to my home country and didn't have a pap smear for a while until last Christmas I had some bleeding between my period.. I thought I had cancer so I went to the doctor and got a pap smear. Although it was stupid to do I never went back for my results... I have never had in between bleeding since... The doctor at the time told me it could be from stress etc...

Just before I moved overseas again (4 weeks ago) - I went and had another pap smear (needed to get this sorted out once and for all cause I've been stressing since december) and my original smear was clear. I got another smear and also the 'thin prep' which is said to be more accurate than a normal pap - to be on the safe side (altough the doctor told me I didnt need to! (I can be a little paranoid at times!!)) and my results again came back clear.... THank god..

Well - in any case - I took Vitamins B12, Folate, Aloe Vera Juice, and Betacarotene - and also the Betamannan. I'm not sure if it was the Betamannan or not - and I'm not sure if it will work for anyone else - but it worked for me and is worth trying - its made from aloe vera. The website is www.alotek.com. Also, if the Betamannan does not work - they will refund ur money back.... They were doing a study on it (clinical trial) in New York but for some reason they stopped - I think they didn't have enough people...

Re: A question about dysplasia...

What kind of form does this Betamannan come in - is it pills, like vitamins, or is it a vaginal insert?

Re: A question about dysplasia...

Betamannan are in Tablet form. U have to take quite a few from what I remember. I think about 4 orally and 2 vaginally (jsut stick them in!)?? Something like that - its been a while... Its all worth it if u get clear paps....
