There are other symptoms including...gas, back pain, weight loss, sharp pelvic pains.
You can have any or NONE of the above symptoms...ovarian cancer is known as the whispering disease as it often doesn't show symptoms until late stage disease is in place.
I had: lots of gas - especially at night, back pain - couldn't stand up long enough to wash the dishes, real sharp pelvic pain a couple of times a month, dizzy spells with nausea, pressure in the pelvic area.
These are also symptoms of other common diseases...ovarian cancer is not common.
I had a slow growing ovarian cancer called a borderline cancer. It is usually caught is early stage and usually does not require chemo just surgery.
I was lucky. If you think you're at risk see your dr. Ask for a pelvic ultrasound (CT scans aren't as good at pinpointing problems) if anything shows up...don't panic...cysts are real common and often produce the same symptoms. |
