Ever since I was about 5 I was diagnoised with IBS which has the same symtpoms of Ovarian Cancer. (I'm now 19) I have gotten a pelvic ultrasound recently because I was having really bad pain in my lower right side. The doc. told me the ultrasound was fine, probably just the IBS acting up. But for the past year I have had major pain (that I have never felt before with IBS down in my pelvic area and bloating like you wouldnt believe.) So, I was just wondering if pelvic ultrasound detects ovarian cancer? and what you guys think I should do?

If your ultra-sound scan has shown nothing for overian cancer I would look to IBS, Don't forget symptoms of IBS can change as you grow older. Have you Moved house to a hard/soft water area? Have you changed your diet? Are you worried about other parts of your life? All these things can have an effect on you.

hi, I have had the same symptoms w/ fullness in pelvis and also pain in right side..I had the same symptoms 3 years ago and had a pelvic ultrasound that was normal I have a feeling of fullness esp on right side ..they said I have ibs also..what other symptoms do you have?

What is IBS? I had the pain in the right side and the bloating about 19 years ago. It ended up being a bad infection/abcess it was removed along with my appendix.A simple blood test will let you know if there is infection. And have your appendix checked as well after all they are on the right side too as far as I know. I also had a fallopian tube removed due to another abcess the size of a large orange 4 years after the first surgery. I hope things work out well and though we tend to think the worst its not always cancer.
