Had Leep on 5/20-How long before I can get pregnant? - Cancer: Cervical & Ovarian Message Board

Hello all. It has been so helpful to read all the posts and see others are going through the same thing (although I do not wish this stress on anyone!). I had a leep last week to remove abnormal cells from my cervix. I have had "undetermined" cells in my paps for 2 years that they have been watching and then after the birth of my daughter last year they went away. However, last month they returned as "medium grade" liasions" and my Dr. suggested I get them removed so I had the LEEP done last week. My question is-my husband and I were planning on getting pregnant again this summer!!! How long do I have to wait after this procedure to start trying (my dr. was not very specific - "a couple of cycles"). Please let me know what you have all heard. I don't know the answer to your question but..... i had my leep done may 14 and just found out today that i am pregnant. i'm going to the dr on monday and am hoping he gives me good news so i will let u know.

Just wanted to let u know how my doctor appt went today. I had my LEEP done on may 14 and found out on 7/2 that I am pregnant. Went to the doctor today and she did a thorough exam and said everything should be fine. Said they didn't have to remove much of my cervix. She also said that after 6 weeks the cervix is completely healed. They will watch me closely around 17-18 weeks because if my cervix is going to show any weakness it will be around that time. If it does begin to open prematurely they will put a stitch in it. so far so good. my due date is 2/04/04. If anyone is interested I will keep you updated.

I wish I had an answer for you. My doctor said 5 months which is totally unacceptable to me because I miscarried yesterday and my LEEP isn't for a month.
