Please forgive my ignorance on this subject. I basically know nothing in regards to cervical cancer. I spoke with my cousin today and she informed me that my aunt (71 yr. old) has a tumor on her cervix. She never stated she had cervical cancer. She did however tell me that my aunt has had radiation on the tumor last year that apparently did not work. They want to start chemotherapy now.

I guess my question is, what is the normal protocol for cervical cancer? Is it initially just radiation and then if she doesn't respond they turn to chemo as a last ditch effort?

My cousin basically said today that she has told my aunt NOT to do the chemo. She should just try and preserve her quality of life. Should this be the end for her?
