My daughter was diagnosed with a germ cell tumor almost 2 years ago. She was 12 at the time. She had sharp pains for a couple weeks then fainted at school, took tests at the hospital and was operated on that night. (I just thought she was beginning to menstruate). It was unusual for this to happen to someone so young but the doctors said if you get cancer this is the one to get. It was very treatable and cureable. She had seven weeks of chemo and went back to school. That was Jan 29, 2004. She is doing great, gets tested every four months and is coming up on her second anniversary.
