I met with a 2nd oncologist yesterday regarding my situation. I have Adeno carcinoma in situ and am 17 weeks pregnant. I was told to get a cone biopsy and am actually scheduled to have it done on Monday but I think I am going to call it off.
He said basicly that they can't tell me if the deeper tissue in the legions I have are in situ ( non invasive) or invasive without doing the cone biopsy. If they are non invasive the risk is much smaller and waiting to do something about it until the baby is born will probably not cause any greater risk. If it is invasive the risk is that it will go into my lymph nodes. But the cone biopsy will just diagnose this not treat it. They can't treat it until the baby is born. I am not willing to abort the baby to treat it so getting the cone biopsy seems like more of a risk then I am willing to take.
Glorydaz, you have to do what you feel most comfortable with. If this is what you feel is best, then this is what you must do. I've been thinking about you, and will keep sending positive thoughts your way.
