New to site Very Nervous about PAP

I recently read an article on cervical cancer, and it made me think......So yeasterday I went for a PAP smear, as I have symptoms starting with a bloody discharge in middle of my cycle, then turns to a watery discharge. I also have bleeding after intercourse, and severe cramps and clots with period which I never use to have. When DR. did pap yesterday he did find blood on my cervix, he siad it could be a number of things but didn't say what. I am scheduled for an ultrasound in 3 weeks. What else could it be? I am very nervous, I just turned 38. Am I over reacting

Christina

Re: Very Nervous

It could just be dysplasia which is very treatable! Stay positive!

Re: Very Nervous

OMG Christina........I'm going through the exact same thing as you,I thought I had wrote your post!
I went for a PAP 3 weeks ago, my doc gave me an antibotic, suggesting it might be a bacterial infection(I also have an odour)I had my period April 1st, and my hubby and I had sex on the 15th and the bed was covered in blood after and I bleed for 4 days(huge clots and regular period)I get that watery stuff also,my periods are really "different".I have lots of pain in my lower abdomen, gas, bloating.I figured if there was something wrong with my PAP my doc would call......I have to go back on the 25th.......I think I'm going to ask to see a gynocologist.
I had a TVT(bladder surgery) November 15th.........It was done vaginally,so I don't know if something went wrong there or what, some of my friends think it might be menapause(I'm 40...both my mom and older sister went through menapause at 40...but they don't remember having these symptoms)
Please keep me posted

Re: Very Nervous

My Dr. thought it was not hormonal, and that it didn't appear to be an infection either, but I will keep you posted. My Grandma had cervical cancer, though I haven't read anywhere that it is hereditary. Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing...................
