Wink Back woes for worry warts!

Presley,

I hope you could find the new thread easily. I figured this would be a good title for us. Anyway, my back hasn't been hurting me for the past few months and then suddenly, about two months ago, it started again. It could have nothing to do at all with my monthly surprise, but it seems to be around then that it starts to hurt. I was, however, involved in a car accident some years ago in which I suffered a broken neck - two vertabrae, C4 & C5. My doctor predicted back and neck problems, but I can't imagine how a broken neck from over ten years ago could affect my lower back. But who knows, right? The pain for me starts and stops with the lowest part of my back, level with my hip bones, right in the middle. Like you, I will get stuck, mostly in a sitting position, if I've been sitting up in a chair or in bed for a long time. When I get up, it's too painful to straighten up for about 5 minutes. But then after my period, it goes away. Weird, huh? I will take your advice and ask my doc next time I go.

Anyway, what kind of work do you do that's so active? I waited tables for like 10 years. I hated it then, but now that I'm sitting a computer all day, I miss it. I'm getting my masters in public administration, which is basically managing government rather than business. But I specialize in budgeting, which is the department in which I work for a city near Chicago. I told my husband that one day, when I don't have to do it for money, I might be the only server/city manager there ever was! I'm not into the pretentiousness of all that is government these days, so I think it would be funny. My alma mater, however, would be mortified!

Write any time. I'm always on the 'puter and will keep in touch. I have no social life because of school, so it's always nice to have someone to talk to and hang out with in the virtual world. You'll have to tell me all about Scotland. My husband's heritage is Irish--are Scotland and Ireland on good terms? (I need to keep up more with what's going on in the world, so forgive me if I fain ignorance). I should know these things. Anyway, we almost went to Ireland for our honeymoon, but went to Disney World for 4 days, then took a Disney cruise to the Bahamas and had a total BLAST! My heritage, on the other hand, is French. I grew up in Louisiana and most of my ancestors immigrated from either England or France in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Well, I don't want to bore you too much. I don't even know if they allow us to post messages to certain members like this. But oh well, I'll give it a shot. Have a good night, and I hope your back feels better

Re: Back woes for worry warts!

hi!
The time of the month does funny things to us eh?! Mostly weird and not so wonderful!
You know i probably better not speak to soon but I feel not too bad today for the first time in months! but no doubt that will be short lived! Makes me feel guilty for not being at work- but I know I have to be sensible about this and follow doctors orders. My pain is right at the top of my bum crack! I hate describing the location of it as it is so unladylike! but that's where it is. I fell in the shower about 8 years ago, it was a university one in a halls of residence and was complelety tiled with steps and i slipped on a step and fell right on the ridge, the bruise covered my whole backside. I was mortified that my (then) boyfriend had to carry me down the hallway butnaked for the whole place to see while i was wailing and screaming cause i couldn't walk! in hindsight i probably should have gotten that xrayed but the fall must have knocked all sense out of me!. Anyway the pain is exactly where I hit it and i guess that probably weakened the area that has finally given up.
In the meantime i will go and attempt a relatively pain free walk!
