Hello everyone,

It's been incredibly hard to find even another person who's had only their cervix removed, as the procedure is relatively new and not widely practised yet.
I had my syrgery in France, for example...

Now I come to the difficult bit...(...) and it's about making love.
I am used to using a diapragm, but obviously now i don't have a cervix anymore that seems out of the question.
Please, is there anyone out there who has an answer, aside from the obvious such as condoms etc.

Does anybody know if you can actually still use a diaphragm and how has that worked for them, or have they found alternatives that worked.

I am aware I am asking people for VERY personal information, please don't be offended, I am just looking for information.

I am confused as to why you would still need to use birth control!! Are you saying that they removed your entire cervix and still left you with the ability to conceive? Without a cervix, there are so many complications that could arise if you were to get pregnant. I had most of my cervix removed (about 90% according to the doctor) and they did a tubal ligation (not optional) because of the complications pregnancy with an inadequate cervix would bring. What is your doctor saying about this???

This procedure is used to maintain fertility in younger women. It is an alternative to a hysterectomy. This procedure is done more often in Europe than in the US. It is just starting to become more popular here.

Usually the baby is delivered early, and from what I read, must be done of C-section.

But to reiterate, it is done to preserve fertility.
