Discharge

I had a leep on Sept. 15. due to a dx of CinIII from Colposcopy. The path from the leep came back as Cin I with clear margins. I didnt totally understand how that happened but im VERY happy. My question is this...its been about 7 weeks or so and every once in awhile i will have a little discharge tinged with pink. This is usually after i lift something heavy, i did go back to my normal activities pretty quickly..working, cleaning, lifting, so im wondering if this in normal healing stuff or something i should have looked at. No other signs or symptoms of any problems.

just an FYI
I have posted many times before using another name but due to some type of issue someone else got access to some personal information so i had the moderators change it for me.

Thanks

Re: Discharge

Hi Aryes, first of all your LEEP results are absolutely fantastic news. Its the best you could ever could have hoped for, and I am sure a huge weight off your mind.

As for the discharge, I had discharge for weeks after my treatment but it wasn't tinged with pink, although I did have bleeding off and on afterwards. This may be a sign of infection and it would probably be best to go to your GP to see what he says but a part of my also thinks that this may just be a normal healing process as your poor little cervix has been through quite a lot!

Re: Discharge

Thanks Malibu

You are not kidding it was the best news i have heard in a long time....

Would i have any other symptoms with an infection?

I feel fine, no burning or itching or irritation.

Im not that happy with my Dr. although he did a great job with the proceedures that i had, so im not in a hurry to see him so soon...

I do take alot of baths which i understand isnt the best....but it helps me to destress

Thanks again

Re: Discharge

Hi Aryes, when the nurse at the hospital was telling me about the risk of infection after treatment she didn't mention itching or burning as being symptoms. It was more a prolonged smelly discharge, discharge tinged with pink/brown and prolonged bleeding.

Maybe you could just make an appointment with the nurse at your surgery as I find they often know more about this kind of stuff than the doctors anyway.

Did you have a lot of discharge when you first had the LEEP? I didn't have anything for 2 days and then (TMI) it just ran out of me! I was drenching pads and had to change underwear several times a day. There was also a nasty smell. I don't think this is very normal (after what the nurse told me) but it did eventually go away, so maybe your tinged discharge is just your bodies way of healing.

Re: Discharge

I was fine afterwards..i think i had a little bit of this same type of thing for a few days and then i got my period and that was normal.

I just spoke with the drs office, there wasnt anyone other than the women at the desk, who btw went through this same thing, so i asked her and she said as long as there is not a bad smell or pain then its most likely just the healing, but if things changed to call back.

I am ovulating (sp?) so it may be all those things at the same time. The discharge is light, usually after going to the bathroom and just a tinge of pink...sorry for TMI....

One other thing that i was wondering...i had normal paps for 20+ years since my divorce ( a cheating husband) i have been with 2 other people... one of the two for 5 years we broke up and then i was with someone else for a year. SO i cant figure out who was the one that i got the HPV from..but i was wondering if i had gotten any other STI's would all the testing that i have gone through picked that up? Never any symptoms of anything thing...
Thanks again
