it is unlikely that the colposcopy would cause problems with the pregnancy. I just posted some information on the thread colpo. while pregnant that you might be interested in reading

Hi,

A colposcopy is really just a glorified Pap test. The doctor looks through a magnifying device at the cervix, a vinegar solution is applied to help any abnormal cells stand out, and then, if needed, a biopsy is done of just a thin layer of the outer lining of the cervix.

The biopsy isn't too painful, and if you'll have the doctor tell you right when s/he is about to take the biopsy and cough right at that moment, you won't feel a thing - I promise. Just be sure to warn the doctor that you're going to do this, so they'll be prepared.

Please, call your doctor and discuss your concerns with him or her. I'm sure they can put your mind at ease.

Good luck with everything.

Hugs,

Lisa

Thanks Shashi for the cough advise! I haven't heard of that idea before. I have a feeling that I will be due for another Colpo after this Cryo surgery I'm having in a couple weeks. Thanks again!

Re: if i do a colp procedure whil im pregnant will i lose my baby

I had a culpo done when I was about 4 months pregnant with my first child, and all went well. It was really minor, and by that night the bleeding had quit and there was no pain involved with it. I would say you will be just fine!!
Good luck with everything...
