Re: what is chronic Endocervicitis
Chronic endocervicitis is a long-term irritation of the inside of the cervical canal. It effects about half of all women at some point in their life. It can be caused by allergies to douches, tampons, spermicides, or condoms, an overgrowth of the normal bacteria in the vagina (bacterial vaginosis), or sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and herpes.
Treatment would be anitbiotics or anti-viral agents in the case of herpes infection. Left untreated, endocervicitis can cause cervical erosion and cause problems with conception and birth.
