| | LEEP Yesterday...About the procedure
Hello. I just had my LEEP procedure performed yesterday. I just wanted to share my experience with everyone. First of all let me start by saying that I was terrified going into the doctor's office. My nerves were a wreck and I even thought about not going at all. As it turned out, the procedure wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The most uncomfortable (not painful)part was the first two injections of the numbing medication (the other four I did not feel at all). In addition, I never felt the part where the doctor took the three biopsies. About 45 minutes after the procedure (after the medication wore off) I began to experience some heavy cramping in my abdomen and in my lower back. I took two Aleve that seemed to help. Overall, last night was somewhat uncomfortable, but not dreadful. Today is great! I took the day off from work per the doctors orders but I honestly believe I could have went in. My bleeding is minimal, hardly any at all since the procedure and as of now, I am pain free. I hope my experience will help someone who, as I was, is nervous about an upcoming LEEP. Don't get so worked up because it is really not that bad. Just relax, once you make it through the initial injection of the cervix, the rest is a piece of cake.
