Can anyone please share the advice they have gotten from their doctors about heavy lifting after a LEEP procedure? I had my LEEP done yesterday and the doctor assured me that I could return to work immediately. I informed her that my position required heavy lifting (between 25-40 pounds) all day, every day. She again did not seem to think that was going to be a problem. Everything I have researched thus far has stated that a woman should avoid heavy lifting after this procedure for 2 - 4 weeks (depending on the source of information). I took the day off work today just to be safe but I plan on returning tomorrow.
Can anyone tell me what the risks of heavy lifting are after this procedure? I am not sure I understand why it is advised against by so many, and allowed by others? I need to go back to work for financial reasons ssing as how I will definately be out for roughly 6 - 8 weeks in April due to my upcoming hysterectomy. On the other hand, I don't want to cause futher damage by doing something I shouldn't be. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Well, I did attempt going back to work only to get extremely ill. For the first two hours upon returning, I was constantly vomiting. My stomach began cramping and my lower back began hurting. The bleeding associated with the LEEP procedure immediately became worse. I went from almost no bleeding to quite heavy bleeding in a matter of hours. I have decided to take the rest of the week off just to be safe. Can anyone relate?
