Tip to help eliminate pain during cervical biopsies

Just wanted to share a little trick my gyn has for eliminating the pain of a cervical biopsy.

Yep, you heard right. Right at the moment my gyn takes the biopsy, he has me cough. I have never felt a thing, and believe me, I've had plenty of biopsies in the past two years.

If you try this (and I highly recommend doing so), be sure to tell your doctor what you are going to do so it doesn't startle them when they take the biopsy.

Shashi, that is good advice. However, I would be afraid to try it. Knowing my luck, I'll cough and the doctor will cut something she shouldn't lol. It is strange that your doctor would tell you this. All my doctor preached was the importance of staying still. She had me terrified of moving. Maybe my doctor is not as skilled as yours....who knows?
