Problem with bloating.......help?????

Over the last 2 1/2 years or so I have had two "bouts" with a bloated problem. As soon as I eat I feel like I have eaten a huge meal even if I eat a small amount. It lasts a week or maybe two and then goes away. A couple of weeks ago this started again and I feel the problem in the stomach area and then my abdominal area fees really full and bloated just really uncomfortable. Keep in mind that this has only happened twice in 2 1/2 yrs. with this being the third time.

I know myself well enough to know that when I start having a problem that is unusual I start worrying about it and then it gets progressively worse and IF I decide to finally go on to the doctor they can't find anything and then it goes away. I'm not a hypocondriac but an a worrier.

Now I've decided that bloating is a sign of ovarian cancer. I have had some minor pain in the ovary area but not often. I'm almost 60 so it isn't ovulation. My friend laughs at the fact that I am a pessimist and always think of the worst case scenario and never realize that it could be as an ovarian cyst .......not necessarily cancer.

My husband and I did start working out five days a week on 2/1 and it was a few weeks after that this all of this started. I am heavier that I should be (was about 180 lbs. now 169) and sometimes I feel like the problem is all weight related but my weight has been steady for 7 years or more.

Can anyone give me any ideas as to what is going on???? I'm quite scared now.

Re: Problem with bloating.......help?????

Hi,

While bloating can be a symptom of ovarian cancer, it's more likely that it's a sign of a gastrointestinal problem such as IBS, especially since it's only happened three times in 2 1/2 years.

However, your best bet is to go get it checked out, and put your mind at ease. Better safe than sorry.

Hugs,

Lisa

Shashi, thanks so much for taking the time to reply. It's just good to have someone ease your mind a bit.
