hi im new to this thing so if any one can answer my question would be grateful.
i have a friend (24) who i have sexual activity stuff with.
she has told me she has cervical cancer and has had it for 4 years.
is it possABLE FOR A LADY THIS YOUNG TO GET THIS TYPE OF CANCER ??
she also says we can not have sex as it hurts her when she has sex cause of the cancer ?? is this ture ??
Yes, it is possible for your friend to have cervical cancer, though it is rare in one so young. And if she does have cancer, it would cause pain with intercourse.
Is your friend being treated for the cancer? I'm curious if she actually has cervical cancer or cervical dysplasia, which is a pre-cancerous condition. Four years is a long time to have had cancer. She'd either be cured by now, or very ill.
Well, CIN 3 shouldn't hurt. I've had CIN 3 (which is pre-cancer, not cancer) and I've also had carcinoma in situ (cancer which hasn't spread yet) and I never had any pain except immediately after my laser surgery. However, everyone is different and I don't know the extent of her cancer, so give her the benefit of the doubt.
Cervical cancer is caused by the human papilloma virus. There are many strains of this virus, some which do cause genital warts. However, the strains of the virus that cause cervical cancer do not cause warts, though it is possible to have both at the same time.
And yes, the laser surgery does remove the cancerous cells. Hopefully she is receiving follow-up treatment to be sure that the cancer doesn't return.
