Sorry you're going through this. Did your Dr. tell you your HPV status? My Dr told me that with atypical or LSIL results, the first path is to "wait and watch" which is probably why you were told to come back in 6 mos. The inflammation could be causing the changes being picked up by the PAP so the Dr. probably wanted to see if the inflammation subsided over 6mos and then the cervix would return to normal. Since the PAP is still abnormal, she probably just wants to repeat the colpo to make sure it's still just inflammation and that there's no progression. Hope this helps.
I don't know much about squamous dysplasia, but I highly recommend you ask your doctor for an ECC (endocervical curettage) when you have your next colposcopy. It scrapes the endocervical canal (the inside of the donut) for cells the doctor can't see with the colposcopy. I had atypical cells in that canal, not on the outer part of the cervix.
