Three months ago I had an ultrasound for cramping and bloating for a month. It showed that I have a small cyst on my right ovary. It also showed one on my left. I went for another u/s yesterday and my doctor called today. She said the left cyst is dissipating. The cyst on the right has grown a little but it is still very small. It is some solid, some liquid. Her recommendation is to wait 6 to 12 weeks and do another u/s at the hospital. They have better u/s equipment there and can check the blood flow. Is this a good plan of action?
Sounds like a great plan. This doctor sounds like he/she does not want to panic you; however, this doctor is not going to let you wait to long to see if there is any further growth.
Good luck and come back and let us know how the repeat u/s went.
Thank you for your reply. From everything I read, solid in a cyst is not a good thing. So I was wondering if waiting for another u/s is the right thing to do, or if I should have it removed?
I had a complex cyst several years ago. A year or two later I had another ultrasound and there was no cyst. So, complex cysts are not always "bad". I don't know if your semi-solid is the same thing as a complex cyst, though.
