| Re: cin 1 and anal sex
There is a standardized anal swab (anal brush) test similar to a PAP to detect both SCC (squamous cell carcinoma) of the anus and it's precursor cell changes AIN (anal intraepithelial neoplasia) typically from HPV. I believe that anyone who tests positive for any degree of dysplasia CIN1 or higher should have HPV testing done to determine the strain of HPV involved. While only the high risk HPV types cause dysplasias which can lead to cancer if you only show one strain such as 16, it is suggested to still get the Guardasil vaccine as it can aid in prevention of the other types it coveres 6, 11, and 18.
I have had HPV lesions on the cervix, in the vagina, the vulva, the labia, the peroneum and anal area. They can show up anywhere in those areas or none largely depending upon your own immune system and how it handles the virus.
