If you want your son to continue to have a mom then you need to care. I understand your plight regarding the possibility of being homeless. In 2006 I lost our home (I'm a single mom w/ 17 year old daughter) because I needed to be out for recuperation from extensive laser surgery involving the entire anal region resulting from AIN3 and my company fired me. My daughter and I had to move into an apartment. Then in July I had yet another recurrence in the anal region but it has also now invaded the internal rectal tissue as well. After yet another surgery I was let go from the job I got after my last job too and we had to move yet again (just this past November actually) becauseI couldn't afford to keep paying the rent in the other place. All this moving has been trauamtic too and only increased my stress level. In any case most states have a "211" number you can call to get information on agencies which can help assist with the medical expenses. Have you applied for Medicaid? You do not have to be a member of a church to get assistance from one. Many of the catholic churches in particular are willing to help in these types of situations.
I have been living with the extensive fallout from HPV for over 20 years and it can beat you down but you need to think of your son. If you have been with this doctor a long time perhaps you can speak to him about your financial situation. I know it can be embarassing and/or degrading to feel you have to practically beg for help but then this is your life we're talking about and no one is going to do it for you. Take your son with you and just explain your situation to the medical office most will try to help by making an exception for you.

Reason: added additional info
The time between sexual partners is pretty much irrelevant when it comes to HPV. I was first diagnosed in 1987, had invasive squamous cell of the anus in 1991 (in addition to lesions just about everywhere else as well, vagina, vulva, labia, cervix) requiring resection, chemo and radiation. For the past 7 years I haven't been in a relation or had casual sex yet was diagnosed with recurrence of AIN3 in 2006 and now with squamous cell of the rectum from HPV. No once is going to convince me differently that the immense stress I had been under for the 1 1/2 years preceeding my recurrence in 2006 and the unrelenting stress since then have not contributed to a depressed immune system and resurgence of the HPV.
What would you like to know specifically?
So far, I cannot find anyone to watch my son. Still hoping. We know no people and any stranger would want paid and we cannot even afford dishwash liquid now or in the future.
I will pray, tis all I can do.
It has been a long day and I can't remember, are you having a cone (cold knife cone or LEEP) or a colposcopy with biopsy? You can definately walk afterwards and take the bus. Other than that, the recovery is different between the cones and a colpo w/ biopsy.
Its a cone, being put under for it. They said it would take 30 minutes. I told them I'd been under for dental reasons before and was all fine when coming out of it (besides mouth pain) so they said recovery would be about an hour.
I just had a cold knife cone on Thursday, and felt amazingly fine afterwards, except I did get shaky when standing up for the first few hours as a result of the general anesthesia. My procedure lasted about 45 minutes. I went in at noon, went under at 1pm, and was released about 4pm. Good luck!
Went for the pre surgery blood taking and questions.
I found out its a d&c with leep.
Also cervical biopsy.
The reason was written, cervical dysplasia and aub, whatever that means.
They said I'd be out deeper than i was during the dnetal work I'd had.
Any info appreciated!
