Ovarian Cyst/Concerns/Questions

I wen't to the GYN about 3 weeks ago do to my period being late. I am usually VERY regular every 28 days. My last cycle was exactly 61 days (so really completley skipped a month) the doc did a pelvic exam and put me on progesterone 10 day script. I took it for 5 days got my period and stopped taking the med (as I was told to do). My period was normal for me. Not any heavier or more painful that they all are. So I went back to doc yesterday for vaginal ultrasound which was pretty normal. They said my uterus was enlarged and the lining was a little thick. Also there was a cyst on one of my ovaries. I forgot to add I had bloodwork done also which checked hormones and everything was good except for my thyroid, which I think is my fault do to not taking my meds properly. So I will get that checked again in several weeks.
I guess my question is should I be worried about any of this? I do have lower back pain as well as pain in my hip/s often and stomach issues (gas, heartburn which has gotten quite a bit worse over the last year or so) I get naseaus/crampy before my periods and they can be pretty painful with the clots and all. Am I overthinking this or should I be concerned? The doc just told me to watch for any abnormal bleeding.
Also, my birthmom (adopted) died of breast cancer recurrence at 52. I am only 31 so...I am overweight (35 pounds of which I have gained in a little less than a year-which could be the thyroid, which was fine a year ago).
I guess I am just looking for advice on what if anything further I should do.
Thanks,
Angie

Re: Ovarian Cyst/Concerns/Questions

sounds like endometriosis..but you'll need to keep pushing the doctors to get an answer.
