I recently had a PAP result "atypical glandular cells present, indeterminate." An endocervical and endometrial biopsy was recommended. My gyn scheduled me for a pelvic ultrasound, LEEP and endometrial.
Is LEEP appropriate for an endocervical biopsy or is ECC a better method?
I'm also concerned about having to wait 3 weeks for the procedure.
The wait may be appropriate in order to give your cervix time to heal from your pap.
I've seen that most doctors recommend a cold knife cone biopsy instead of a LEEP when there is suspected glandular cell involvement. The LEEP singes the edges of the tissue sample which makes it difficult to determine if all of a lesion has been biopsied. The CKC doesn't damage the edges of the sample.
When I had my CKC my doctor did another ECC and also did an endometrial biopsy.
hello, I am sorry to hear about what you are going thru, our stories are very much alike. I am having a cone biospy done an alittle over a month, I understand how hard it is to wait. You just want some answers. Good luck and god bless.
