High Grade Dysplasia
My daughter had a colposcopy a few weeks ago after a couple of abnormal paps and they did a biopsy. She received a photocopied form letter today with "high grade dysplasia" checked off and a request to call the clinic to book a 6 month follow-up colposcopy appointment. HPV is not checked off.
She left for work -- but is scared and I am somewhat confused. If the results of the biopsy are high grade dysplasia -- why is nothing being done except another colposcopy in 6 months? "High grade dysplasia" are scary words -- but waiting 6 months implies not a lot of urgency. Is this common? We tried calling the doctors office but of course could not get through to a person. Any input would be appreciated.
